Latest WORK: clouds of lea

« What does it take to make the necessary confidence appear in oneself, in order to feel legitimate to attempt to ride some of the steepest faces of the Alps?

And what does it take to make it disappear? «

Lea Klaue, swiss freeride snowboarder, has often heard « trust yourself » when she was out in the mountains. But how do you do that? Where does trust come from?
CLOUDS of Lea is cinematic reflection on self-confidence as well as the lack thereof. The short film documents how Lea climbed and snowboarded on some of the steepest and most exposed north faces of the Valais Alps in the Spring 2023.
Steep riding is a very special snowboarding discipline that requires not only the necessary physical and technical skills but also a good dose of luck. Because snow and weather conditions in the high Alps are just as unpredictable and fleeting as the necessary self-confidence.

About laureen

Welcome to my website!

Here is a little note about myself – I am filmmaker and snowboard enthusiast specialized in camera operating and documentary making.

Bringing my technical knowledge to the Alpine environment, my focus is to share new perspectives on our relationship with the mountain, working with committed and passionate athletes and adventurers.

What matters to me are the human stories and our path into co-creating a film, in order to maintain a down-to-earth approach and bring a raw, honest story to life.

I graduated from Brussels’ INSAS (Institut National Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle et de Diffusion) with a Degree in Cinematography, and left my native flat lands of Belgium to begin a new chapter in the Swiss Alps as an independent camerawoman.

Throughout the years, I grew with a variety of field experience in TV directing, camera operating and assisting, and getting my Alpine knowledge and skills figured out through becoming an SSSA snowboard and ski instructor.
