2023-05 / director AND CO-WRITER / swiss alps

« What does it take to make the necessary confidence appear in oneself, in order to feel legitimate to attempt to ride some of the steepest faces of the Alps?

And what does it take to make it disappear? «

.
Lea Klaue, swiss freeride snowboarder, has often heard « trust yourself » when she was out in the mountains. But how do you do that? Where does trust come from?
CLOUDS of Lea is a cinematic reflection on self-confidence as well as the lack thereof. The short film documents how Lea climbed and snowboarded on some of the steepest and most exposed north faces of the Valais Alps in the Spring 2023.
Steep riding is a very special snowboarding discipline that requires not only the necessary physical and technical skills but also a good dose of luck. Because snow and weather conditions in the high Alps are just as unpredictable and fleeting as the necessary self-confidence.
